The old saying, No Planting until Memorial Day, definitly came true this year, as we still had a frost this week. But it looks like it should be the last one and we will have smooth planting from now on.
What beautiful weather we are having right now, Sunny, low 70’s, and no humidty! ! If it could stay this way all year I would be so happy!
But the heat will come as it is Michigan and we must have every type of weather that exists.
So here are some good watering practices for when the weather starts to get hot and dry.
To figure out when it is time to water your lawn, keep an eye out for early indications of dehydration and wilt. Common signs include grass that is bluish-green, grass blades that curl and foot prints that stay noticeable on the grass.
While you can water at anytime of day, the most effective time to water is generally morning. This is when you will lose the smallest amount of water to wind drift and evaporation.
Remember to be careful of over watering as that does increase the rist of mold and fungi.
This weekend looks like it will be a perfect weekend to get that garden planted and enjoy the beauty of Michigan!
Here Comes The Sun! Have Fun!
